First-time adaptive alpine skiing (level 0). This session introduces the sport and equipment for the very first time.
2 blue level
Beginner adaptive alpine skier. You are already familiar with the assistive equipment used in skiing.
3 red level
Intermediate adaptive alpine skier. You are a regular participant in adaptive alpine skiing. Lessons are conducted as private sessions at the ski school.
Adaptive alpine skiing allows everyone to enjoy the thrill and joy of skiing, even if you or a family member have a physical disability or condition requiring personal assistance. Our trained adaptive alpine instructors and the use of specialized equipment make it possible to experience new activities and learn new skills, including standing skiing or sit-skiing.
Lesson focuses are tailored to each student’s abilities and pace. Share your wishes and special needs with the instructor before the lesson so you can plan a session suited to your needs. All adaptive alpine skiing lessons at Pyhä Ski School are private, ensuring each student receives individualized instruction.
Some participants always need assistive equipment, while others may only require guidance and advice from the instructor. Skiers with balance challenges or limited muscle strength can benefit from the support of a standing skiing instructor or specialized support devices. For example, wheelchair users need a sit-ski to participate.
On sit-ski lessons, a skilled guardian, friend, or assistant is welcome to join. We will teach them the necessary basics to assist in skiing. It is important that family members, friends, personal assistants, or guides also receive instruction so that skiing together becomes a shared and enjoyable activity.
