How do I choose instruction that suits my skill level?

You can find your own skill level by exploring our Guide to Skill Levels page, where we’ve outlined different ability levels by discipline.

Each group course description clearly states which skill level the instruction is intended for. Private lessons are available for all skill levels.

Is a lift ticket included in the lesson price?

No, it is not. A lift ticket is required in addition to the private lesson or course fee.

Children under 6 years of age wearing a helmet can use all lifts free of charge when accompanied by a parent with a valid lift ticket.

Do I need my own equipment for a ski school course or private lesson?

When attending a ski school lesson, participants must have a valid lift ticket and equipment ready before the lesson begins. If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent gear from Pyhä’s rental shops.

Please allow enough time for equipment rental before the lesson starts, especially during peak season.

Where does the lesson start?

Our ski school has four different meeting points. When booking a private lesson, you can choose where the lesson begins. The meeting point will be one of the following:

  1. The primary meeting point for the ski school is located in front of the Pyhätunturi Lower Rental Shop. Beginner lessons and all group lessons always start at the Base Area Rental Shop meeting point.

  2. The second ski school meeting point is located in front of the Kultakero rental shop.

  3. The third ski school meeting point is located at the bottom station of the Family Slope.

  4. The fourth ski school meeting point is located at PyhäLinna. The meeting point is at the edge of the Family Slope, in the immediate vicinity of the PyhäLinna apartments.

When attending a ski school lesson, the lesson must be paid for in advance (at the ski school desk or via a prepayment link). Participants must have a valid lift ticket and their equipment ready.

At what age can a child start ski school?

Children can attend private ski school lessons from age 4 for ski lessons or 6 for snowboard lessons.

For group courses, children can participate from age 5 for ski courses or 7 for snowboard courses.

What are the ski school booking and cancellation terms?

We follow the terms and conditions for ski school services agreed upon by the Finnish Ski Resort Association and the Consumer Ombudsman, which can be found here.

Which exercise benefit vouchers can be used for ski school?

At Pyhä Ski School, you can use E-Passi to pay for personal course fees or private lessons.
