In the "Feeling of Snow" talk, Antti Autti will take us to the heart of snowboarding. Antti will share his experiences and insights into the different types of snow and how understanding them can open up entirely new dimensions to your riding. He will also explain how different snow conditions affect the skiing experience and how we can deepen our passion for the sport by embracing the diversity of snow.
In the second talk, the Pyhä Snow Safety Center will provide valuable information related to avalanches. Expect updates on the Pyhä area for the 2025 season, as well as practical advice on making avalanche forecasts. Particularly interesting will be recent avalanches in the Pyhä-Luosto area, through which we will learn about the area's unique features and the crucial role of expert snow safety when moving through the Pyhä region.

Freeride Movie Night at Naava, Dec 5th

The Freeride Movie Festival will arrive at the Naava Nature and Culture Centre auditorium and will treat backcountry lovers with skiing films on Friday 5 December starting at 7pm. Bring the whole family and sit down in the warm indoor spaces after a day on the slopes to enjoy the fantastic skiing experiences. The event is free of charge and there is no age limit. Independence Day Torch ski 6.12.2025

The traditional Independence Day torch ski will take place on Saturday, led by the Pyhätunturi Ski School at the Polar slope (4) after the slopes close. Everyone is welcome to join the parade, and the youngest participants will receive a lighted torch. Skiers will gather in front of the Pyhä Express Lift at 5:50PM. On Independence Day, December 6th, the slopes will be open extended hours until 6 PM.

Open Air Cinema: Freeride Movie Night

In the chilly evening at the Tajukangas outdoor theater, there's a warm atmosphere as the Freeride Festival delights backcountry enthusiasts with ski films. Filmmakers will be present to showcase their projects.

The evening is for ages 18 and over. 1664 bar will be serving drinks during the film screening. The event is free. Put your warmest clothes on and join the show in the most magical movie theatre!
