Learn essential techniques and enjoy plenty of climbing on a stunning Tajukangas frozen wall right next to the Pyhä Ski Resort. While prior belaying experience is beneficial, it’s not a requirement to join.

This experience can be tailored to match your skill level and personal learning goals, ensuring a rewarding and unforgettable day on the ice.

Techniques to choose from:

  • Proper use of ice axes and crampons
  • Ice climbing movement, body positioning, and postural awareness
  • How to top-rope belay an ice climber
  • Evaluating the safety of an ice climb (water ice)
  • Common risks in ice climbing and how to prevent them
  • Preventing cold injuries
  • Essential knots and equipment
  • Building ice climbing anchors with ice screws

Duration: 8 hours (including a meal break, meal not included in the price). A light, nutritious meal by the bonfire can be purchased separately. Alternatively, participants can choose to dine indoors at a nearby restaurant.
