Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are one of the most beautiful displays of the sky above the Arctic. On our northern lights electric snowmobile safari, your guide will lead you to open spaces far from any light pollution.

You will have plenty of time to observe the sky and you only need a little bit of luck to see some magic in the air! The tour includes a suitable winter outfit for the safari and the total duration of the program is ca. 2 hours.

Northern Lights Electric Snowmobile Tour by Experience Pyha

A peaceful night-time journey through the northern wilderness

Head out into the quiet fells after sunset, where your guide leads the way on electric snowmobiles. The drive is gentle and beginner-friendly, and our silent eSleds allow you to fully immerse yourself in the stillness of Lapland’s night.

We travel to wide-open areas away from all artificial light: ideal spots for stargazing and searching for the auroras. During the break, you’ll enjoy warm drinks while taking in the calm, snow-covered landscape.

Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Part of the experience is the excitement of the chase, and even on nights when the auroras remain hidden, the starry skies and serene surroundings make the journey truly memorable.

Requirements

  • Drivers must be 18+ and hold a valid B-class driving licence
  • Passengers must be 140 cm or taller to ride behind an adult (adult rate applies)
  • Children under 140 cm travel safely in a sleigh pulled by the guide

FAQ

  1. Who can drive a snowmobile? Drivers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driving licence.
  2. Can two people share a snowmobile? Yes. You may also switch drivers during the mid-tour break.
  3. Is solo driving possible? Yes, choose the single-driver option for your own snowmobile.
  4. Can I join without driving? Children and their guardians may join in a sleigh. Adults can request a sleigh seat depending on availability (not available on longer tours).
  5. Can my child ride with me? Children over 140 cm may ride behind an adult; others ride in the sleigh.
  6. Is winter clothing included? Yes. We provide thermal overalls, boots, wool socks, mittens and a balaclava for guests aged 4 and up.
