A White Christmas in Lapland – Welcome to Pyhä!

Celebrate the magic of Christmas surrounded by snowy fells and peaceful nature in Pyhätunturi. Experience a traditional Finnish Christmas with Santa Claus, reindeer, and heartwarming concerts in the atmospheric Fell Chapel.

During the Christmas season, you might spot Santa Claus skiing down the slopes of Pyhä Ski Resort. Reindeer can be met through local safari experiences or by visiting the Kopara Reindeer Park reindeer trail.

Local restaurants serve authentic Finnish Christmas dinners – reserve your table by contacting the restaurant directly via email. Pyhä-Luosto also offers unique winter activities, which are best booked in advance. 🎅 Spot Santa on the slopes – sharp eyes are rewarded!

Santa has decided to give the reindeer a short break and lace up his ski boots for a change. You can spot him skiing on the slopes on December 23–24 from 1–2 pm.

If you happen to be on the hill at the same time, keep your eyes open: a flash of red might speed past, beard flowing in the winter air.

Spot Santa, snap a photo as proof, and show it the same day at the ski school desk at the Lower rental shop.
👉 Sharp-eyed spotters will receive a small Pyhä-themed prize!

The ski school desk is located at the Lower rental shop, on the right as you enter through the doors. The ski school will be present at the desk on December 23 from 1–4 PM and December 24 from 1–2 PM.

The PyhäExpress chairlift serves pedestrians as a scenic lift during its normal operating hours. Find the opening hours below the image.

A trip to Pyhä is not complete if you haven't seen the landscape from the top of the fell, right at the edge of the national park. At the summit, you’ll find Restaurant Tsokka, Pyhä Dreams wine bar, a scenic hut where you can relax by the fireplace, the iconic old lift chair, glimpses of the Huttu-Ukkonen art trail peeking through the snow, and a panoramic viewing deck.

Pedestrian tickets are not sold online. The most convenient way to buy a pedestrian ticket is from a ticket machine. The nearest machine is located in front of Alavuokraamo, right next to the lower station of the lift. Only card payments can be made to the machine. Rental shops sell pedestrian tickets from the service desk, as well as the reception of Hotel Pyhätunturi.

A two hours photography trip with a professional guide to capture the arctic sky. This tour takes place near Pyhä ski resort and please note that this tour is not a northern lights hunting tour but more of an arctic sky photography session near Pyhä. Your guide is a professional photographer so you should be getting some unforgettable photos from this tour and he will also teach you night time photographing. If the luck is on our side, we should be able to capture the stunning northern sky with stars, or even the northern lights.
You will get warm winter gear for the duration of the program if you need. There is a short car transportation to the venue from our safari house.

Ice karting program

Ice Karting at Pyhä is a totally new experience that is fun and exciting. It is an activity that is easy to learn and get going, but difficult to master. Ice Karting allows everyone who is 15 years old or older, and taller than 150cm, to drive and compete with similar karts. The Ice Karting race gives you something to talk about for a long time! Karts in principle are the same as the ones used in indoor karting, but with studded tires. The program consists of practice, qualifying and race.
Three best drivers will be awarded with a medal!

- Precise timing system!

- Snowmobile sleigh transport to the track
- Includes full driving gear (overalls, helmet, mittens, boots)

An ice fishing trip to a river or a lake. After gearing up in warm winter gear and taking our ice fishing equipment with us, we will go by car to a river or a lake for some ice fishing. We usually rather drive a bit longer to get to a good ice fishing place. Our guide tells us the about ice fishing and what we might catch. We will drill our own holes and we will fish using bait. We have a chance to catch a perch, roach, or even a pike or a whitefish. We usually check either a fishing net, or a different kind of a fish trap. Program duration is 3 hours.
Includes car transportation, winter gear, ice fishing equipment, guiding, warm juice.

Price: 80 € / adult, 60 € / child 3 -12 years old.
