Snowmobile safaris and experiences

• The maximum permitted speed on the snowmobile route is 60 km/h.
• On ice-covered water areas, the maximum permitted speed is 80 km/h.
• If towing a sled with passengers, the maximum permitted speed is 40 km/h.
• A helmet must always be worn when snowmobiling. This helmet requirement applies to riders under 15 as well, with the driver responsible for ensuring minors wear a helmet.
• Traffic laws apply on snowmobile routes. The driver must hold a Class T driving license and be at least 15 years of age.

Depart by snowmobile from Pyhä toward Luosto. On this excursion, you’ll ride through the beautiful winter landscapes of Pyhä-Luosto, reaching the summit of Lampivaara, where you'll embark on a guided visit to the amethyst mine. During the tour, you'll have the chance to dig for your own lucky amethyst and hear stories about the formation of quartz.

The snowmobile safari is suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced riders.

From Pyhä-Luosto, you'll find plenty of trails of various lengths for day trips in the fells. The majority of the trails in Pyhä-Luosto are free of charge.

Northern Lights Route around Pyhä and Luosto, approximately 94-106 km

The Northern Lights Route around Pyhä and Luosto is approximately 94 km long. By adding the Orresokka loop, the total length extends to 106 km. Along the route, there are two campfire sites: Poisionpalon lean-on shelter and Siurunsuun hut. Between Pyhä and Luosto on the snowmobile trail, you'll find Pororavintola Kopara, an excellent resting spot for long journeys. The only refueling point in the area is at K-Market Pyhätunturi in the Pyhä shopping center.
